Irish Nationals

Mirror Dinghy team from the Philippines wins the Irish National Championships.

Eleanor Keers, age 11 years and Izzy Pugh, age 10 years came in 37th in the Irish National Mirror Dinghy Championships. Hurray for these very young gals. There were 68 boats in this regatta.

The two men in the first place boat from the Philippinens were ages 36 and 40. In one of the Canadian boats the skipper was 60 years of age.

Clearly, Mirror Dinghy racing is for all ages.

Ok,We'll see you over here for the Irish Nationals next year.Lol.
Well done to those little kids. With them been so young, they have a very bright future in sailing.
I didn't know that Mirror sailing is so popular here in Ireland, didn't even hear that the World Championships were been held here. I'm afraid if it's not hurling, football or soccer,it won't make much media attention. So that's one I'll keep an eye out for next year, not that I'll be doing any racing.
I'm about five hour drive from Lough Derg, presuming that is the one down aroundTipperary and not the one here in Donegal that people go to do penance.

The 60 year old Canadian mentioned above belongs to the Ontario Mirror Dinghy Association (OMDA) as do I.
