Hi,
I'm the proud owner of a mirror (51403) I rescued it from going to the dinghy graveyard having been given it by a friend. It had sat in a garden for a few years and was in a sorry state. Rigging and sails were good but hull was very poor. A couple of months work, off and on, and it was usable again. I now live in the west of France (Vendee) and wonder if there are any other Mirror owners in France? Nice forum and some interesting posts.

It's always good to hear of a boat rescued.
There are no boats from France on the roll call as yet, so yours could be the first, if you wish.
I seem to recall seeing mention of French Mirror sailers somewhere on the "old" forums, but cannot find the reference now. There is a YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtI78c_FXos) of a French-speaking gentleman sailing a boat with at Mirror rig (#2154 !), but the hull is something else. Obviously the rig came from a boat that did not survive the rot-attack. It just goes to show how long-lasting dacron sails and the spars are.
Stick around here, tell us your tales, follow our discussions and perhaps sooner or later someone else from FR will show up!

PS I just found a second video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P8h_WSwjxE) showing the boat on the beach - definitely not a Mirror.
