For restoration or Rentokil

Just wait until the spring. The worms which have been munching your boat for the last 3 years will eat their way out and it will look like this.

For a seasoned boat bodger this Mirror may have potential. At least it's complete, may even float. Mine's been a lot worse.

Happy new year,

Cliff

What you get for 150 its a pretty good deal. The boat would depend on how far the worms have got but the rest looks fixable. Trailer oars cover etc plus sails & foils.
What is that round orange cylinder thing with the foils & sails??

"What is that round orange cylinder thing with the foils & sails??"

It looks like a pair of wheels which attach to the skeg for launching the boat without a trolley. These appear now and again but I've never seen one in use.

This may be why Mirrors have a peculiar hole in the skeg for no apparent reason. I think the latest class rules allow this hole to be filled. This will allow the boat to slip through the water better but I think the main reason is to do with manufacturing the latest 'glass boats.

Whether they actually are Mirrors or not is a bit debatable. I'd say not, the class association (obviously) disagree. I wonder what Jack Holt and Barry Bucknell would think???

At the end of the day, "money talks"!

Someone should design a thing to put into the hole for racing which can be removed afterwards so that you can still fit wheels to the skeg. It could have a couple of buttons that you press to release it but which cause no drag when unpressed as their surface would be in exact alignment with the surface of the skeg. To fit properly, the hole would have to be lined with a surround of exactly the right shape to match the hole filling part, and the surround would be glued into place using epoxy.
