Mirror Sail Shapes

I recently seen a picture (and will try to post it) of a mirror with a very interesting shape of sail
I was hoping if anyone could give me more information on the sail

Hi
Welcom online here!
You cannot upload pictures directly to this site. We have limited capacity, being a privately-run affair.
However you can either simply enter the URL (web address) of a picture here, or if you want it displayed directly, follow the instructions for inserting pictures by means of the html tag as given in the thread http://forum.mirrordiscussforum.org/node/35 .
If you do not have an on-line repository for your own pictures and would like a particular picture put up here, you can send it as an e-mail attachment to me and we can then put it on our folder and give you the URL of where we stored it.
However, as you seem to have downloaded the picture from somewhere else, all you'd need to do is paste the source URL into your forum comment and anyone who's interested can look at the source.

I have attached a URL to the picture

your URL doesn't work, I get an "access forbidden" message. the wikisend page seems to be a method for private file sharing.
As I wrote above, you don't have to down- or upload any picture that is already available on the WWW. If you remember where you saw the picture:
- go to the respective page;
- put the mouse pointer on the picture;
- click the right-hand mouse button;
- select the function "copy graphic address" (or similar, depending on your browser)
- write your comment in the forum and paste (ctrl+v) the "graphic address" (i.e. the URL) into the comment at the desired point.
- save your comment.
Now anyone interested can look at the picture by clicking on the link that appears in your comment.
An alternative would be to paste the complete address of the page on which you found the picture. If it is a dinghy-related site, the other contents may be of interest to other forum members and visitors too.

I hope this has helped.

Cheers;
Gernot H.

I've seen a YouTube of a fellow experimenting with a gaff rig for cruising. I think the idea is to lower the Center of Effort on the rig to reduce heeling without reducing sail area and to keep reduce the forward movement of the CE when reefed.
