Glad to have you online!
Are you new to Mirrors or dinghy sailing in general, or returning to the class, so to say?
17687 is another boat that has not yet made it to the Roll Call. Would you like to have her (and your) info registered?
Even if there are no technical questions or similar issues, progress reports (and pictures) are welcome here. By showing "how I did this" they help others who may have problems with the same tasks. They may even encourage some folks to risk taking on a restoration project.
Here's wishing you success!

roll call
Hi, yes would like to be on the roll call. The boat will be kept in Matlock and sailed at Carsington s.c.
This is my 5th mirror, I have previously had a Miracle, Enterprise, Flying Fifteen, Laser, RS Vario but keep returning to the Mirror!
The boat will be called Mirabelle for obvious reasons, I wonder how many other Mirabelles there are?
It is in very sound condition for it's age but needs stripping, painting, re-varnishing etc. It has obviously had very little use over the 47 or so years of it's life time and looks to have been dry stored most of it's life.
I feel very privileged to be it's present custodian and look forward sharing news of the restoration and subsequent adventures!!
Jeremy.

Interesting location
You've certainly been through a lot of interesting boats!
We bought "Puffin" several decades ago from a family somewhere north of Stoke, where my parents-in-law used to live and where we'd spend a few weeks every summer.
Being so easy to transport and store has probably contributed to Mirrors' popularity in the areas which are not quite so near to larger bodies of water!
Cheers;

Hi Gernot,
Hi Gernot,
Yes, the Mirror is such a versatile boat too which endears it to those who do not sail simply for sailings sake.
We take our boats to Salcombe in South Devon every year for our summer holidays which is a perfect place to sail, motor, row and generally just mess about on the water. There are always mirrors sailing there or ferrying families to and from the beach or out fishing or on excursions in the estuary usually with a pub stop somewhere along the way. Never has there been a more perfect boat to take on holiday with you. We have an ancient Seagull forty minus engine for the Mirror which I have kept despite selling my previous Mirrors, it is an ideal partner for the boat, light weight, reliable, simple but brilliant engineering and built to last a lifetime. It is even older than the boat!"
Best regards.
Jeremy.
