That's an awful lot of trouble, although I like how the results look.
All that work would probably not be much less than building a Scamp from scratch. Scamps have the advantage that they are self-righting.
All the same, it looks as if he's enjoying the boat.

As you can see, the skipper just has to give the board a little tug and the boats bobs upright.
I'm not happy about water ballast in a plywood boat, unless you could be sure to exclude cracking epoxy coatings and osmosis. Else they're sure to rot within a few years.
Have you followed some of Bruce Moffat's building posts ("Romana de Scamp") on Facebook?
Ha yeah I did wonder. And yeah it does flip back up very easily.
Just quickly looked up Romana De Scamp. I probably haven't the skill, and certainly haven't the time to ever take on a project like these. I have enough difficulty just managing basic maintenance tasks and a few easy mods! Interesting to see anyway though.
