Gel coat color

Hello all

I am repairing a Glass mirror number 69742 i believe it is a Bell Woodworking/Ferranti GRP boat as it is a chopped strand mat made boat.

I need to find out the gel-coat color of the grey deck. it doesn't appear to be an RAL color as i cant get the ral pigments to match up close enough.

any help would be brilliant

Although I own a wooden Mirror, I have some experience messing about with gelcoat repairs, having tried to fix some scratches and holes (hollows in original gelcoatm, now cracked open after 30-odd years of use) on my Flying Cruiser "Anansi". Neither the pure-white nor the off-white repair kit matched the hull's white which has changed hue over the years. Probably the same applies to the grey of the Mirror's deck. If you're worried about the aesthetics, you'll probably have to do what most owners of old GRP craft do here in Germany: paint over the whole boat. I believe there is a good selection of marine paints suitable for GRP.
