Revival of the Earth Mirror Challenge

Forums:

A reminder for those whose sailing season is over or has not yet started and who enjoy sightseeing by google Earth or other sites that show satellite photos:

Everyone who spots a Mirror anywhere in the world on one of these aerial photos (only the first sighting of a particular boat or fleet counts) is eligible to receive a picture postcard by real mail, signed by me personally, provided she or he would like one and is prepared to reveal a real mail address to me.
Report your finds here!

This competition has been running for years now ....
Google Earth has updated a lot of their satellite shots, so surely someone has got to be lucky some day ;-{)
So next time you go inspecting the virtual globe, have a close look at inland waterways and coastal waters!

Cheers

There is one on the sea front in Mumbles,Wales.Over towards the resturant. I have looked at it many times, going to rot, never looked for it on Google Earth though.
From the look of it there would be a lot of restoration needed but all there including trailer.I have a photo or two and will add to my photobucket.

Can only find one at the moment. First one here, the black transom on the trailer.Must look at the beloveds camera. http://s1004.photobucket.com/user/merc800nut/library/?view=recent&page=1

From reading Gernot's post (above) I thought this is far too easy, I must have missed a trick here.

On Google Maps I found the dinghy park at Itchenor Sailing Club from where they sail Mirrors and there they all are tucked up under their blue covers.

I also found my Wayfarer sitting quietly in my friends farmyard.

Does the Mirror actually have to be out sailing?

@ Cliff
I confirm that there must be a few Mirrors under all those tarpaulins.
You win!
I'd never thought of that :-) , I spent hours scouring the coastal waters for red sails...
Send me your postal address by e-mail (my address is on the home->contacts page) , please.
We could continue the competition by specifying that now we are looking for a Mirror sailing.
Cheers,
Gernot
