Just won a Mirror

I just won a Mirror on ebay for £42.50, I have not seen her yet but it looks like to will need some repairs to the hull and other work doing.

The price may not be related to the condition of the boat as there are probably a lot of boats lying around in garages and boathouses. I suppose some of them were left there when the owners just lost interest or thought they were too old for a small dinghy, so they may be in a usable state.

Too old for a Mirror?? In August I will find out if, at the age of 84, I am too old for a Mirror. I was not too old last August. Of course if the water looks like glass I don't go out. If there are more that a few white caps I do not go out.

@Pete : You and I will have trouble catching up with Tony Clee ( taken from the Mounts Bay Sailing club Facebook page - 29 June 2016):
"Tony Clee pictured with his family on his 90th birthday. Amazingly he sailed his mirror dinghy in the morning round the bay with his 2 grandsons. We have found out that Tony through his years of sailing has introduced 45 youngsters to the sport, some to become national champions. Tony also successfully sailed his mirror dinghy from the Scilly Isles in 2008 raising money for a charity he has long supported, cancer research UK. Many happy returns Tony and here's to another 10 years sailing. All the best from everyone at MBSC."
Tony Clee celebrates his 90th .

I know this was sidetracking the thread a little. Pete and I (the admins) like to rib each other occasionally.
How is your boat - assuming you've picked it up by now?
Gernot H.

I have not picked her up yet, I will be getting her on Sunday. I can not wait as I have wanted one for a long time.
